Condolences

Condolence From: Edwin Czechowicz
Condolence: I was very much saddened to hear of Aunt Helen's demise. My sincere condolences to the remaining members of her family. It has been many years since I had seen her. I can remember her way back when I was a youngster as being out tending her garden. God Bless you all and my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of your loss

Condolence From: John Hinchliffe
Condolence: I was very saddened to hear of "Babci's" passing. I lived next door, on Wynola Avenue, from birth until my entering UConn and the Army shortly thereafter. When I returned home from the military in June 1972, my dad "Jack" informed me that the Czechowicz family had moved away, probably to Somers.

My family had a boat and we did much fishing. Every bluefish, blackfish, porgie, or flat that we shared with them was graciously accepted and exchanged for a fresh baked pie or tasty dish. I grew up snitching grapes and smelling the lovely tulips and daffodils that bordered our property. My mother, Ethel, was somewhat jealous of the lovely garden and frustrated that she did not have the time to "compete."

I now live in Stafford, and was surprised to notice Babci's obituary. I never really knew her given name, as she was always "Babci" to all in the neighborhood. My condolences to the family, and my thanks to her, for watching over me when I was a child.
